The software downloads all the information from the Internet in real time: satellite images, street names, roads, cities, location of hotels, restaurants, etc. To use it, you just have to type a place name (sometimes specifying the country) to go there. The resolution is not the same everywhere, but strategic places (big cities) are often very well covered, so much so that you can easily distinguish cars in the streets. Google Earth allows the user to see any place on the globe as satellites do.
It is also possible to perform searches (restaurants, hotels, etc.) and to consult road routes. The user can browse the Earth through satellite images, in 2D or 3D. Initially developed by the company Keyhole (now acquired by Google), Google Earth is a free software proposed by Google allowing to fly over any point of the Earth, on the ground or in aerial view.
